Committed to solidarity

Sustainability and solidarity. These were some of the goals that ‘Hotel Suite Villa María’ proposed to put in place since its inauguration in December 2011. After almost 6 years, our company not only fulfilled its purpose but has also become a reference in the sector for its small gestures that help create smiles.

Our hotel has recently decided to collaborate with the ‘Asociación Asperger Islas Canarias (ASPERCAN)’ by acquiring 3.000 solidarity blue pens with gold engraving, which is a small contribution for a group that fights for equality and for the support of people and social groups affected by this neurobiological disorder.

But this is not our only way of providing help. ‘Hotel Suite Villa María’ is also collaborating with the thirteenth edition of ‘Memorial María García Estrada‘, celebrated in the ‘Real Club de Golf de Tenerife‘. During the last year this golf tournament raised more than 30.000 euros, for the purpose of research and the fight against cancer.

Additionally, we are helping the ‘Rotary Club‘, an association that exceeds one million members and has been trying to fight diseases for more than a century, fighting for peace, improving the quality of life, to access quality health service, for the supply of safe water, for literacy, for the protection of mothers and children…

‘Hotel Suite Villa María’ also maintains a collaboration agreement with the ‘Ayuntamiento de Adeje’ to support some solidarity actions that improve the welfare and quality life of people without resources from the town. Our hotel donates disused materials (such as furniture, cribs, mattresses, kitchenware, etc.) and prepares special meals for these people on distinctive dates like over Christmas Eve or Christmas. ??Furthermore, at the end of September, our athletics team will represent the hotel in the ‘III Carrera Solidaria Ocean Cross UNICEF‘, which is being held in Adeje and seeks to raise funds for the ‘Roda to Awareness‘ campaign, organized by UNICEF and Legacy Starwood hotels.

This solidarity commitment is only part of our responsibility for a better world. With very little you can get a smile. We are trying, what about you?
